Dancer: Valentina Restrepo Giraldo, Jihee Kim, Nene Okada, Kyoko Oku, Julius Olbertz, Emmi Osenberg, Francesca Pavesio, Frederico Mendes Teixeira Choreography: Chun Zhang, Kai Strathmann Video: Kai Strathmann Music: Kai Strathmann Premiere: 2023, Krefeld Inside: "Gezeiten (Tide)" is a choreography about the subtle and sometimes imperceptible movement of human weight shifting. The performance captures the precious moments between preparation and implementation, orientation in space and change of position. In this way,the production also focuses on the present as a link between the past an the future.
Walking is the main movement in this piece. It involves the audience, who can enter the performance at their own
pace, walk through it, enjoy or leave this human 'tide'. The dancers alter their walk through time by listening to their
own body and heartbeat. They share this fluid process with the audience and invite them to become the heartbeat of
the city and write their own future as a movement. The format "MOVE! in town" is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North
Rhine-Westphalia as part of the "Medium Center Funding for Dance and Performance" for the cultural center
Fabrik Heeder.
